Renowned choreographer Remo DSouza has been under the scanner for all the wrong reasons. D’souza along with his Lizelle has been accused of cheating a dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore. A PTI report suggests that a 26-year-old dancer has filed a case against the choreographer. The dancer also named other people in his complaint along with DSouza. He accused Remo and his wife Lizelle cheated him and his troupe of Rs 11.96 crore. The police have filed the case against the star couple and five other accused under section 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating), and other sections of the Indian Penal Code.
As per the FIR, the dancer and his troupe were cheated in 2018 and 2024. The dancer further said in the complaint that his group won a popular reality show but the accused falsely claimed them as their troupe’s owner and their prize amount was Rs 11.96 crore. Apart from Remo DSouza and Lizelle, the complaint was also against Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, a policeman, and Ramesh Gupta. The investigation is currently on. Remo has not made any comment yet on the controversy.
Remo is known for choreographing in movies such as Chameli, Dhoom, Rock On!!, Bajirao Mastani, and Student Of The Year 2. He judged reality shows like Dance India Dance, Dance Plus, Dance India Dance Li'l Masters and Hip Hop India to name a few. Remo is all set to make his directorial debut with Be Happy. The movie stars Raghav Juyal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Abhishek Bachchan and Nora Fatehi in key roles. The release date of the film is yet to be announced. The movie will be streaming on Prime Video.
