Rifle Club On OTT: Director Aashiq Abu’s action-packed Malayalam film Rifle Club is all set to stream on a popular OTT platform. The movie, which hit theatres on December 19, 2024, received widespread critical acclaim and was a box-office success, grossing Rs 27 crore worldwide within 20 days.
The film features an ensemble cast, including seasoned actors like Vijayaraghavan, Dileesh Pothan and Vani Viswanath, alongside Anurag Kashyap, Darshana Rajendran and Surabhi Lakshmi. It also marks the Malayalam debut of Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and rapper Hanumankind, adding fresh dimensions to the narrative.
Written by Syam Pushkaran, Dileesh Nair and Sharfu, the screenplay balances moments of calm and excitement, keeping viewers hooked, especially in the first half. Critics praised the gripping performances and Aashiq Abu’s direction, though some noted areas for improvement in the writing.

The project was officially announced on March 16, 2024, with principal photography commencing just days later on March 20. Filming took place across scenic locations like Mundakayam, the Rajahmundry forest, Thrissur and Ernakulam. The shoot wrapped up on July 19, 2024.
The film’s music, composed by Rex Vijayan, and the background score by Vijayan, Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha Nair, complement the movie’s intense and thrilling tone. Following its theatrical release, Rifle Club earned Rs 15.65 crore in India and Rs 9.25 crore overseas, cementing its status as a commercial success.

For those who missed the theatrical release, Rifle Club will be available to stream on Netflix from January 16, 2025.
