On Wednesday, Fawad Khan sparked controversy after he called Operation Sindoor ‘shameful’. The actor wrote, “My deepest condolences to the families of those injured and killed in this shameful attack. I pray for the souls of the deceased and strength for their loved ones in the days to come. A respectful request to all: stop stoking the flames with rabble-rousing words. It is not worth the lives of innocent people. May better sense prevail. InshaAllah. Pakistan Zindabad!”

The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) condemned Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan for their ‘anti-India’ statements. “The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) strongly condemns the anti-India statements made by Pakistani actress Mahira Khan and actor Fawad Khan, who have openly criticised India and questioned the nation’s actions in defence of its sovereignty. Mahira Khan labelled India’s military response as a ‘Seriously Cowardly’ act, while Fawad Khan, instead of condemning terrorism, focused on criticising India’s stance and supporting divisive narratives,” AICWA wrote on X.

The statement further added, “The association said the comments were not just disrespectful, but a direct insult to the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and innocent lives lost to terrorism. “These statements are not just disrespectful to our nation but also an insult to the countless innocent lives lost due to terrorism and the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our country. AICWA reaffirms its strict and complete ban on Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers working in India. No Indian artist will collaborate with any Pakistani talent, nor will any global platform be shared with them.”

Operation Sindoor

According to government sources, India conducted 24 missile strikes across nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. As per record, 70 terrorists were killed in the air strike. This operation, code-named Operation Sindoor, was reportedly carried out in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack which claimed the lives of 26 civilians in Baisaran valley of J&K.

“It was a statement of strategic resolve. Through 24 precisely coordinated missile strikes across nine terrorist-linked locations, India demonstrated that it would no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism, nor the complicity of state institutions that enable it,” said a source.
