Rupali Ganguly’s stepdaughter, Esha Verma, has spoken out against the recent family drama that has been making headlines. In an Instagram Story, Esha addressed the defamation suit filed by her stepmother, calling it “disturbing, cruel, and a reflection of their true character.” The 24-year-old explained that this would be her final statement on the matter.

Esha’s comments come after a Rs 50 crore defamation notice was reportedly sent by Rupali Ganguly, following accusations made by Esha. According to Esha, she never intended to harm anyone but was only trying to share her personal experiences. "Speaking up was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it also became a turning point in my life," she wrote in her Instagram Story. Esha explained that coming forward allowed her to find clarity, peace, and liberation after years of silence, while also being mindful of the impact it would have on her loved ones.

In her statement, Esha emphasized that her intentions were never malicious. "I never involved a minor in my statements," she clarified, referring to Rupali’s 11-year-old son, Rudransh. Esha stated that she only shared facts related to her family’s past, including a marriage that occurred in February 2013, followed by the birth of a child in August that year. She expressed that any other interpretations published in the media were not her doing.

Esha also took aim at her father, Ashwin Verma, and expressed that children should not be punished for speaking their truth. She labelled the response from her father and stepmother as “disturbing and cruel” and stated that their reaction showed their true character. "A child should not be punished for speaking their truth," she added.

Earlier this week, Rupali Ganguly’s lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, explained that the defamation notice was sent due to Esha’s comments regarding Rupali's son. According to the lawyer, Esha had wrongly labelled Rudransh as illegitimate and her posts had been defamatory towards Rupali.
