Sam Bahadur: The much-awaited biopic helmed by Meghna Gulzar and featuring Vicky Kaushal, is set to hit the screens on December 1. The film sheds light on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who made history as the first Indian Army officer to attain the prestigious rank of Field Marshal. The teaser and trailer of the movie have generated substantial buzz, building anticipation for its release. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has certified 'Sam Bahadur' as U/A, with a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes).

Sam Bahadur: Advance Booking

On December 1, Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur will lock horns with Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial Animal. Despite a stellar cast featuring Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Neeraj Kabi, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, advance bookings for Vicky Kaushal starrer have shown limited traction, with advance booking figures amounting to approximately Rs 1.82 crore, as per Sacnilk. This contrasts with the fervour seen for 'Animal', signaling a potentially lower audience interest in the former.

Sam Badahur is reportedly is hitting approximately 1,300 theaters in India, with a screen count ranging from 1,800 to 2,000. The film's release strategy is focused, emphasising metropolitan areas. Advance ticket sales for 'Sam Bahadur' opened on Saturday, garnering decent response, with around 25,000 tickets sold in top chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis by Thursday morning.

Reviewing Sam Bahadur, Vicky Kaushal's brother-actor Sunny Kaushal called it an 'amazing' film and thanked Meghna Gulzar for making it. "What a film..what an amazing film this is..@rsvpmovies @meghnagulzar thank you so much for making Sam Bahadur.. it is truly remarkable how you have so beautifully managed to show the life, the character, the love this man had for his country and uniform in a span of 2.5 hours.. it made me laugh, cry, inspired and most importantly it made me realise what great courage and character means," he wrote.

"@vickykaushal09 Just when I think you’ve outdone yourself, you surprise me yet again..I know you manifested this film and now I can see why.. I think this film chose you..I don’t think anybody could’ve played Sam better…you’ve given you heart and soul and everything in between to portray the life of a man which was so valiantly lived," he added.

On the other hand, Abhishek Bachchan wrote, "Saw #SamBahadur last night. The enormity of all that #FieldMarshalSamManekshaw did and achieved is overwhelming! And so beautifully told on celluloid by my favourite @meghnagulzar. It’s a huge responsibility to portray one of India’s greatest sons and she does it wonderfully. To the entire cast and crew, you should be very proud and thank you for telling this story. @fattysanashaikh @sanyamalhotra07."

Praising Vicky Kaushal, Abhishek further wrote, "My veerey, @vickykaushal09, what do I even say about you -- you continue to set the bar so high for all of us and then so effortlessly jump over it as only Sam can. All I can say is “Well done, sweety”!!!."
