Jessy Nabam, a contestant on the popular talent show India's Got Talent, has found herself embroiled in a legal controversy following her participation in a recent episode. The trouble began when Jessy made some comments that were perceived as insensitive and sparked widespread outrage, prompting the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against her.

The incident in question occurred when host Samay Raina posed a question to Jessy, asking if she had ever consumed dog meat. In her response, Jessy revealed that while she personally had not eaten dog meat, it was a common practice among people from her home state of Arunachal Pradesh. However, it was her additional comment that ignited the controversy, as she stated that her friends would sometimes even eat their pets. The remark was met with instant backlash, with many viewers expressing their outrage on social media, ultimately leading to the registration of the FIR against Jessy.

The complaint has been registered by Armaan Ram Welly Bakha, a resident of Seppa, East Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh. Bakha alleged that Jessy's comments on the show were derogatory and disrespectful towards the indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh. The FIR claimed that her remarks not only tarnished the image of the local community but also perpetuated harmful stereotypes.

The FIR stated, “I humbly request you to take swift action in this matter, so that no one else can make such remarks like Jessy Nabam did.”

The incident has sparked a larger conversation about representation and portrayal of people from different regions on national platforms. The FIR filed against Jessy Nabam has brought the issue to the forefront and the legal process is now underway to investigate the matter further.
