After facing a massive backlash over Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial comment in India's Got Latent, host Samay Raina’s upcoming Gujarat shows have been reportedly cancelled. As per a report by PTI, VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) stated that the popular comedian will not perform in Gujarat and his show tickets have been removed from BookMyShow. Notably, Samay had several shows scheduled in Gujarat such as Surat on April 17, Vadodara on April 18 and Ahemadabad on April 18 and 20.

As quoted by PTI, Gujarat VHP spokesperson Hitendarsinh Rajput said “It appears all these four shows have been cancelled due to public outrage against him in Gujarat. Though tickets for these shows were available till morning (of Wednesday) on BookMyShow, it seems they have been now taken down from the portal.”

Another leader from the same party, Ashvin Patel told the New Agency “In view of the anger among people, it appears organisers have cancelled Samay Raina's upcoming shows in Gujarat.”

India’s Got Latent Controversy

Ranveer Allahbadia made some controversial remark on ‘parent’s sex’ as a joke to a contestant. The video of the same widely spread across social media attracting outrage on it. The YouTuber also apologised for his comment and stated that ‘comedy’ is not his forte. In a public apology video shared on Instagram, the podcaster said, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s got latent. I’m sorry. My comment was not appropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform, and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I'm not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened.”

Notably in that particular episode, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija were in the judge panelists.
