Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar is all set to come back on the silver screen with its sequel. Sanjay Dutt, who was all set to feature in the sequel as well, has faced some visa issues. As per a report by Mid-Day, the movie was about to be shot in Scotland and Dutt applied for a UK visa multiple times but it got rejected. Now, the makers have dropped the actor and replaced him with Ravi Kishan. The report also suggests that the visa was cancelled due to his arrest in 1993.

A source told  Mid-Day, “Ever since his arrest in 1993, while Sanju has travelled to the US, he has applied for a UK visa multiple times, but never got one. The Son of Sardaar 2 shoot would have been his first trip to the UK. However, after Ajay’s team found out that the senior actor’s visa request had been rejected, they replaced him with Ravi Kishan.”

The source also shared that it would also impact the shoot of Housefull 5 as Akshay Kumar’s movie is scheduled to be shot in London in September. The source added, “Sajid has chosen a wiser route. While the shooting with the cast begins in London, all of Sanju’s portions will be filmed in Mumbai. So, there are no issues on that front.”

Sanjay Dutt was arrested in 1993 under TADA (Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act) and later was convicted of violation of the Arms Act for possession of illegal weapons. The actor was sentenced to five years in prison. However, he completed his jail term in 2016  after multiple bails over the years.

Son of Sardaar 2 will feature Mrunal Thakur, Ajay Devgn, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Nav Ghotra and Nalneesh Neel in key roles. It has been directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and produced by Ajay Devgn.
