As the eagerness to learn more about this epic saga continues to build, a significant update has finally been revealed - the film is slated for a grand release on March 20, 2026, strategically coinciding with the longest holiday stretch of the year.

This planned release date ensures that the film will benefit from the consecutive celebrations of major festivals such as Ramzan, Ram Navmi, and Gudi Padwa, providing an extended window for audiences to indulge in this cinematic masterpiece throughout the holiday season. As the anticipation for further details reaches a fever pitch, the collaboration between the visionary director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the talented trio of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal promises to be a visual treat, making this one of the most eagerly awaited films in recent times.

Earlier, Sanjay Leela Bhansali released an official statement on his Instagram handle. He wrote, “We bring you Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic saga 'Love & War'. See you at the movies! Christmas 2025.” However, now it has been announced that the movie will hit the theatres in 2026 and not on Christmas 2025.

The upcoming magnum opus, LOVE AND WAR, marks a significant milestone in the careers of its lead actors. Notably, this project represents the second creative collaboration between Bhansali and the talented Alia Bhatt, who previously worked together on the critically acclaimed 2022 film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Alia's powerful performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi earned her the prestigious National Award for Best Actress, solidifying her position as one of the leading ladies of Indian cinema.

Additionally, LOVE AND WAR also marks Ranbir Kapoor's second outing with Bhansali, further strengthening their creative partnership. Interestingly, Ranbir Kapoor's journey in the film industry began with his debut role in Bhansali's 2007 film Saawariya, making this project a poignant reminder of his growth and evolution as an actor.
