Anurag Basu's much-anticipated film Metro... In Dino starring Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur seems to be facing yet another delay. Originally set for a 2024 release, the film has already encountered multiple postponements and now reports suggest that it might not hit screens until 2026.
According to a report by the Times of India, the reason behind this delay is Anurag Basu’s decision to focus on his upcoming romantic film featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela. This project has been progressing swiftly, with a teaser already out and a confirmed Diwali 2025 release. Given the pace of its development and its impending clash with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thama, it appears Basu has prioritized this project over Metro... In Dino.

The film, produced by Bhushan Kumar, was initially introduced as a spiritual successor to Life in a... Metro and promised to explore modern relationships in urban India. However, its continuous delays have left fans uncertain about its release timeline.
Despite the uncertainty, Aditya Roy Kapur, in an interview with India Today, shared that filming for Metro... In Dino has been completed and that the project is ready for release. He expressed his enthusiasm for the movie, stating that he was eagerly looking forward to its premiere.
Meanwhile, Bhushan Kumar is overseeing several high-profile projects lined up for 2025 and 2026. These include Border 2 featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty; De De Pyaar De 2 with Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R. Madhavan; Dhamaal 4 starring Ajay Devgn; Spirit with Prabhas; and Tere Ishq Mein starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon.
While there is no official confirmation about Metro... In Dino’s new release date, industry speculation suggests that audiences may have to wait until 2026 to finally see Anurag Basu’s urban drama on the big screen.
