Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan recently opened up about the terrifying knife attack on her father, Saif Ali Khan, and how the incident made her reflect on the unpredictability of life. Saif, 54, was stabbed six times at his Bandra home in Mumbai on January 16. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent spinal and plastic surgeries before being discharged on January 21.

During her appearance on NDTV Yuva, Sara spoke about the emotional impact of the incident on her family. “It could have gone so wrong… and I am so grateful that everything is fine. It was a reminder of how unpredictable life is. We always talk about mental health and being grateful, but moments like these truly make you realise it,” she said.

When asked if the traumatic event strengthened their family bond, Sara emphasized that her connection with her father has always been strong. “It didn’t make me realise I love my father—I have known that for 29 years. But it made me understand how life can change overnight. Every second of every day deserves to be celebrated. It made me realise the importance of just being,” she added.

Sara also shared a broader perspective on life’s fragility, drawing parallels to how major events like the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped people’s priorities. “It takes a pandemic to make us value time at home with family or a life-threatening incident to remind us that life truly matters. The small joys in life matter. Celebrate every day that you are alive,” she concluded.

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan was last seen in Sky Force alongside Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya and Nimrat Kaur. She is set to appear next in Anurag Basu’s Metro… In Dino.
