Veteran actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik, who acted in over 80 films, passed away on Thursday morning. The actor was 66 years old. The cause of Satish Kaushik's death is said to be a heart attack.
The news of Satish Kaushik's death was confirmed by his friend and actor Anupam Kher. Taking to his social media account, Anupam Kher posted a picture with Satish Kaushik and wrote, "I know "death is the ultimate truth of this world!" But I never thought in my dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend #SatishKaushik while alive. Such a sudden full stop on friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH! Om Shanti!"

Satish Kaushik’s last tweet on the microblogging site was for friend Anupam Kher, wishing him on his birthday. The veteran filmmaker wrote, “KSaab u must be learning swimming in water now but u hv been a gold medalist swimmer in life . With ur ace technique of front stroke,backstroke,diving ,floating has swam thru life with dignity,power ,elan & kept getting younger & younger. wishing u a Happy Birthday.”

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar took to his social media account to mourn the sudden demise of Satish Kaushik. In a tweet, the ‘Fashion’ director wrote, “I am so shocked to hear the demise of actor-director Satish Kaushik ji, who was always vibrant, energetic and full of life, he will be missed immensely by the film fraternity & millions of admires, My deepest condolences to his family members.”

Born on April 13, 1956, Satish Chandra Kaushik started his film career in the 1980’s. The veteran movie personality wrote the dialogues for the cult classic film ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’. The actor became a household name owing to the mega success of his role as ‘Calender’ in Shekhar Kapur’s ‘Mr. India’.
Satish Kaushik was popular for his performances in films including ‘Deewana Mastana’, ‘Ram Lakhan’ and ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’. The actor took to filmmaking and directed superstar Sridevi's film, ‘Roop Ki Rani, Choron Ka Raja’ and ‘Prem’, which unfortunately became box-office disasters. Satish Kaushik got his big hit as a director with ‘Hum Aapke Dil Me Rehte Hain’.
Last rited of Satish Kaushik will reportedly be held today in Mumbai.
