'Satyaprem Ki Katha' Box Office Collection Day 1: 'Satyaprem Ki Katha,' directed by Sameer Vidwans and starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, had a significantly weaker opening at the box office compared to their previous film, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.' On its first day of release, 'Satyaprem Ki Katha,' a romantic film, collected a decent amount of approximately Rs 9 crore. The movie premiered on a Thursday, coinciding with Eid al-Adha holiday.
'Satyaprem Ki Katha' has garnered favourable reviews from critics so far, and the positive word of mouth surrounding it can potentially contribute to its success in the coming days. Sameer Vidwans has directed the movie, which part from Kartik and Kiara, features a talented ensemble cast including Supriya Pathak, Gajraj Rao, Siddharth Randheria, Anooradha Patel, Rajpal Yadav, Nirrmite Saawaant, and Shikha Talsania.
As per a report from Boxofficeindia.com, the film 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' managed to accumulate an approximate amount of Rs 8.5-9 crore on Thursday. The report suggests that this collection would have been considered satisfactory if it weren't for the impact of the Eid holiday. The performance of the movie on its second day, a regular working Friday, will determine its future box office success.
According to a tweet from film trade analyst Sumit Kadel, Satyaprem Ki Katha had managed to sell 51,500 tickets until Wednesday 10 pm, which was considered as "one of the best pre-sales for a mid-sized film post the pandemic."
However, the film's opening collection falls significantly behind the 2022 blockbuster 'Bhoot Bhulaiyaa 2,' which amassed a massive Rs 14 crore on its first day. Nevertheless, 'Satyaprem Ki Katha's opening collection is still an improvement compared to Kartik's previous theatrical release, 'Shehzada,' which commenced with Rs 6 crore and turned out to be a box office failure.
