Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan’s successful partnership in Bollywood has given audiences some memorable films, including Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year. Now, fresh reports suggest that the duo might reunite for a long-awaited sequel to Main Hoon Na.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Main Hoon Na 2 is in its early stages of development at Red Chillies Entertainment. The 2004 action-drama was a milestone project for Shah Rukh Khan’s production house and continues to be a fan favourite. Director Farah Khan has reportedly come up with a concept for the sequel that has piqued SRK’s interest.

A source quoted by the media portal revealed, “Main Hoon Na holds a special place for Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan as it was their first major production under Red Chillies. Farah has devised an exciting idea for the sequel, and SRK is quite interested in the direction she plans to take. She is currently working on the screenplay with her team, alongside Red Chillies’ in-house writers.”

While the news of a sequel has sparked excitement, Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly being cautious about moving forward without a solid script. As per the Pinkvilla report, the superstar has made it clear that he will only proceed if the sequel can match or surpass the impact of the original.

The source further added, “Shah Rukh is not interested in making a sequel just for the sake of it. He understands how much Main Hoon Na means to audiences and wants the second installment to be equally powerful. He has instructed Farah and the writing team to focus on crafting a compelling screenplay before making a final decision. He is expected to review the first draft by mid-2025.”

If Main Hoon Na 2 materializes, it will mark Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan’s fourth collaboration after Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007) and Happy New Year (2014). Fans will have to wait and see if the iconic duo brings back the magic of the original film in a brand-new story.
