Shah Rukh Khan Approached To Replace Vicky Kaushal In ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’? Here's What We Know

The makers of the highly anticipated mega budget film ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ continue to make headlines. While initially the film was to star Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, the project was put on a back burner and the movie got shelved.

Recently, the makers of ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ have decided to make the film an expensive project. Reportedly, the movie will be set on a massive budget of over Rs 100 crore and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a breathtaking experience for the audiences.

While it was being reported that not Vicky Kaushal but Ranveer Singh will be starring in the lead role in ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’, the news of the actor being dropped from the project has also surfaced. According to reports, Ranveer Singh’s string of underperforming films at the box-office got makers to drop him from being cast into the expensive project.

Reports indicate that the makers of ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ are now eying a big actor from the South film industry to give their film a pan-India appeal. “Getting a star from the South is a safer bet. The moment an actor like Jr. NTR or Allu Arjun comes on board, the film automatically becomes a Pan-India project and will be dubbed in multiple languages. It also leads to an increase in box office revenue. With Ranveer, that is not possible as he is not a pan-India actor. Forget South, even Hindi audiences may not turn up in huge numbers, courtesy his back-to-back debacles,” a report in Bollywood Hungama cited a source close to the film as saying.

A recent report in Times of India has revealed that since the film is being set on a huge budget, the makers have also approached King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan for the movie. However, no confirmation has been made by the makers on the same.

As for the female lead, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was reported to star in ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film will reportedly go on floors by the end of this year.
