Deepika Padukone recently took to Instagram to share the BTS clip from Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express, where Shah Rukh Khan playfully dubbed her “Singham 5.” In the video, the duo can be seen joking around, with Shah Rukh asking Deepika to mimic the iconic pose from Rohit Shetty’s Singham series. Both stars enthusiastically strike the pose, showcasing their playful chemistry. The video also features one of the most famous lines from Chennai Express, where Deepika’s character asks, “Kahan se khareedi aisi bakwaas dictionary?” ("Where did you buy such a useless dictionary?").
The video quickly gained traction among fans, with many praising the camaraderie between the two actors. Some fans even speculated that Shah Rukh’s light-hearted comment about “Singham 5” was a premonition of Deepika’s future role in the Singham franchise. Comments poured in, with one fan noting, “SRK predicted that Deepika would be part of the Singham franchise. Brilliant!” Another added, “He envisioned it before anyone else that she would be doing a Singham movie.”
Directed by Rohit Shetty, Chennai Express tells the story of Meenamma, a Tamil girl, who crosses paths with Rahul, a North Indian guy on a mission to immerse his late grandfather’s ashes in Rameshwaram. Their journey aboard the Chennai Express train leads to a series of comedic and action-packed adventures that won the hearts of millions.

Deepika Padukone’s connection to the Singham universe doesn’t end with Shah Rukh’s playful remark. She is set to star in the upcoming film Singham Again, the latest instalment in Rohit Shetty’s popular Cop Universe. The movie, slated for release in 2024, features an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

Beyond her role in Singham Again, Deepika was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD, a film directed by Nag Ashwin. The movie, which delves into a post-apocalyptic world inspired by Hindu scriptures, is set in the year 2898 AD and stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Disha Patani alongside Deepika.
