Shah Rukh Khan lent his voice to the Hindi version of the popular animated movie Mufasa: The Lion King. The actor recently promoted the film in a video where he can be seen describing the character and also called himself ‘semi-orphan’. He also explained the reason behind giving the statement and stated that he lost his parents when he was young. In the video, SRK said “If I was to not be humble and say, ‘Haan. meri bhi kahaani aisi hai’ (My story is also like this), then it could fit in. Because technically speaking, anyone who doesn't have parents is an orphan. I did lose my parents nearly in youth, so I'm a semi-orphan.”

Shah Rukh also mentioned that it is the story of an outsider and hinted that he himself is an outsider who has no filmy background. He highlighted that he came to Mumbai from Delhi and shared his struggling journey. Shah Rukh Khan also playfully added, “It’s the story of the King. So, yeah, I'm a king.”

Giving more insight about the film, SRK said “When you see the story ki kaise woh Mufasa bane ya king bane (how he became Mufasa or King), I think it's a very interesting story about sacrifice, friendship, loyalty. The King Khan shared that while dubbing for the movie, he realised that his character Mufasa is such a great character. He called him ‘itna accha human being sher (A very good human-like lion).”

Netizens showcased their love in the comment section. A user said, “I m King 👑 - This Line.” Another said, “Yea, you're the King!.” A comment read, “Movie dekhne ke liye @iamsrk aapki aawaaz hi kafi he.”

Shah Rukh Khan’s sons, Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan have also lent their voices to the film. It was directed by Barry Jenkins and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. Mufasa: The Lion King will be released in theatres on December 20, 2024.
