Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who got popularity directing blockbuster movies like Kabir Singh and Animal, recently marked the first anniversary of Ranbir Kapoor’s film. He appeared in the recent episode of Indian Idol 15. On the show, he hinted about making a movie based on mother and son’s relationship. He shared that if he ever makes this film then it will give a ‘positive’ message and not ‘dark’. Vanga also expressed the immense support he received from his mother throughout his life. 

Sandeep Reddy Vanga said, “My family was very supportive, especially my mother, who helped with the fees for film school and the production of Arjun Reddy. I went to many producers with the idea, but nothing worked out, and then we decided to produce it ourselves.” 

“I’ve been criticized for not giving enough importance to the mother’s role in my films, but I’ve realized that in real life, I am much more attached to my mother. But since we don’t have any complaints in that relationship, there is no drama there or any angst that compels me to write about it. If I ever make a mother-son story, it will be very positive, nothing dark and only good vibes.” 

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s last directorial was Animal which was released in 2023. The movie features Tripti Dimri, Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Charu Shankar, Anil Kapoor and Saloni Batra in key roles. The film was made on a budget of Rs 100 crore and earned over Rs 900 crore at the box office. 

Vanga is also known for his work in movies like Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh. His upcoming projects are Aminal Park (which is the sequel of Animal) and Spirit. The 2026 film Spirit stars Prabhas, Kiara Advani, Keerthy Suresh, Trisha Krishnan, Anant Nag and Kareena Kapoor Khan in key roles.
