Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan opened to huge numbers in Bangladesh. It is pertinent to note that the country had previously imposed a ban on foreign films in order to protect the interests of local industry, but this year, the country decided to allow up to 10 imported films to be screened in its theatres.

Pathaan becomes the first one out of the 10 countries to get a releases. The Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer movie opened in 48 theatres, and will have nearly 200 shows per day.

According to a report by Times of Infia, the local distributor Action-Cut Entertainment’s Ananya Mamun stated that tickets for the first two days were sold out in advance of the release. For the unversed, Pathaan becomes the first Hindi movie to be released in Bangladesh since the time country gained independence in 1971.

Ahead of Pathaan’s release in Bangladesh, Yash Raj Films’ Nelson D’Souza said in a statement, "Cinema has always been a unifying force between nations, races and cultures. It transcends borders, galvanises people and plays a significant hand in bringing people together. We are incredibly thrilled that Pathaan, which has done historic business worldwide, will now get a chance to entertain audiences in Bangladesh!"

Pathaan, a Hindi-language action thriller movie from 2023, has been written and directed by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala on a screenplay by Siddharth Anand. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana are among the cast members of this, the fourth entry in the YRF Spy Universe.

In the movie, Pathaan (Khan), an exiled RAW agent, teams up with Rubina Mohsin (Padukone), an ISI agent, to stop Jim (Abraham), a former RAW agent who is attempting to infect India with a lethal lab-created virus.

It surpassed Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to become India's highest-grossing Hindi film on the 37th day after its release. The movie has earned a total of 1,050.3 crore (US$130 million) as of 6 April 2023, including 654.28 crore (US$82 million) in India and 396.02 crore (US$50 million) elsewhere.
