Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently attended the Global Freight Summit in Dubai, where he opened up about handling failures and staying resilient in both his personal and professional life. The actor, known for his candidness, shared valuable insights during a heartfelt conversation with the event’s moderator.
As per ANI, Shah Rukh highlighted the importance of self-reflection over self-blame when faced with setbacks. “When you fail, you should not believe that your product, service, or job went wrong. Maybe you just misunderstood the ecosystem you were working in,” he explained. According to him, understanding how audiences react is crucial for success. “If I cannot elicit an emotion from the people I cater to, then my product is not going to work, no matter how wonderful it may be,” he added.
When asked if he is ever critical of his own work, SRK admitted to being hard on himself. “Yes, I am. I hate feeling this way, and I cry a lot in my bathroom. I don't show it to anyone. You must believe that the world is not against you,” he said. Shah Rukh encouraged others to accept failures as a part of life. “If your film did go wrong, it’s not because of you or some conspiracy. You have to accept that you made it badly, and then you have to move on,” he stated.

The actor emphasized resilience as a key to overcoming challenges. “There are moments of despair, but there are also moments that say, ‘shut up, get up, and get on with it.’ You have to do it because the world is not against you. Life moves on, and you cannot start blaming life for what it does,” he remarked.
Shah Rukh Khan’s words come after a transformative period in his career. Following a four-year hiatus after films like Zero and Jab Harry Met Sejal, he made a triumphant return with Pathaan in January 2023. The action-packed film, directed by Siddharth Anand, broke numerous box office records and became one of the highest-grossing Indian films.
Building on the success of Pathaan, SRK delivered another blockbuster with Jawan in September 2023. Directed by Atlee, the film crossed ₹1000 crore globally, redefining box office success with its gripping storyline and stellar performances. The ensemble cast included Nayanthara, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra, among others.
Looking ahead, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in King, helmed by director Sujoy Ghosh.
