Actor Shehnaaz Gill, who was recently seen in Salman Khan’s highly anticipated release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, revealed in an interview that she was called out for her weight during her stint in Bigg Boss 13. The actor became a household name after her appearance on the reality show and was lauded for her organic personality and style.

During the promotions of her film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Shehnaaz Gill recalled being body-shamed inside the Bigg Boss 13 house and talked about how she worked on herself and broke all ‘preconceived notions’.

“I changed myself, worked on myself. When people gave me good advice, I followed it and improved. I lost weight as I would hear a lot of comments on ‘Bigg Boss’ about being fat and body-shamed… Then I changed my style as people would think I could only wear a salwar-suit. I broke all these preconceived notions and would continue to do so moving forward,” Shehnaaz Gill told PTI in an interview.

Shehnaaz Gill also spoke about Salman Khan’s influence on her and revealed how he constantly supports her. “Sir would motivate me by saying, ‘You can go ahead, you have potential, work on yourself…’. He always makes me feel comfortable. He’s always supported me. I’m very fortunate that I got to work with sir,” the social media sensation added.

Directed by Farhad Samji, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan released in theatres on April 21, 2023. The film marks Shehnaaz Gill’s debut in Bollywood.

Apart from Salman Khan and Shehnaaz Gill, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan featured Venkatesh Daggubati, Pooja Hegde, Jagapathi Babu, Bhumika Chawla, Vijender Singh, Abhimanyu Singh, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Jassie Gill, Palak Tiwari, Vinali Bhatnagar and Rohini Hattangadi in pivotal roles.

On its first weekend, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan managed to collect nearly Rs 65 crore. The film raked in Rs 13 crore on Day 1, Rs 25 crore on Day 2 and nearly Rs 26 crore on Day 3 of its release, taking its total to approximately Rs 65 crore in 3 days.
