Shivarajkumar's character in the 2017 release 'Mufti' gathered a separate fan base from the audience where he portrayed the role of Bhairathi Ranagal. Making an entry only in the second half of the film, the character of Shivarajkumar gained a massive fan following and now has gained cult classic status.

However, Shivarajkumar is one of the most celebrated Kannada actors and he makes sure to be the center of attraction and grow love for his fans. Realizing the potential in his character, the makers of the film with the actor are now making a solid return, making a film based on 'Bhairathi Ranagal.'

Having a future story-telling of the character, the actor is ready to give a shot where the 'Century Star' got his second home production on the ground and back up the production of 'Bhairathi Ranagal' which will be directed by 'Mufti' director Narthan himself.

The team of the film has officially started to kick off with the proceedings of the muhurta, where the shooting is expected to start by the second week of June and the film is gearing up for a release in March 2024.

Although the film is making its way back after good six years, the cast and crew confirmation of the rest apart from the lead is yet to be announced. Director Narthan is currently busy seeking out shooting locations for the film where he is keenly looking in the areas near Mysore, Mangalore, Bangalore, and Bellary.

Talking about 'Mufti', the film followed the tale of an undercover cop played by Sriimurali, who is keen to attempt to gather information about a local gangster called by name of Bhairathi Ranagal, who is eventually sent to jail at the end of the film.

The character of Ranagal follows him as being rich but has a good heart as he is considered a savior by the masses. Narthan's new film will also examine how Ranagal came to become a gangster where he will be transpired after his incarceration.

The team of the film has stated that several characters from the film 'Mufti' will make their return, however, it is still not confirmed whether Sriimurali will revive his role as the actor is currently busy with his film 'Bagheera.' The production of the film was halted after the actor sustained injury and required immediate medical intervention and rest.
