Dhanush and filmmaker Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, who married in 2004 and announced their separation in 2022, never disclosed the reason behind their split. However, more than two years, singer Suchithra made some shocking allegations about the former couple, claiming that the duo has 'cheated on each other' during their marriage. She further asserted that the former couple would go on dates with other people while they were still together. Also, she called Aishwaryaa a bad mother but acknowledged that Dhanush is fulfilling his fatherly duties.
In an interview with the YouTube channel Kumudam, Suchithra discussed various scandals, including the marriage of Dhanush and Aishwaryaa. She remarked, "Aishwaryaa is accusing Dhanush of cheating on her but that is what she has also done throughout the marriage. That is double standards, no? Aishwaryaa has cheated on Dhanush, Dhanush has cheated on Aishwaryaa. They’ve been a couple who have been systematically cheating on each other."
"They have had small flings. They have sat at the bar and had drinks with the person they are dating." When the host suggested that going on dates isn't abnormal, Suchithra responded, "Would you go on dates while you are in a marriage?"

The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwarya and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this.
