The two were known for their affectionate display of love, but have finally made a heart-wrenching decision to separate on amicable terms.
The duo expressed their deep love and care for each other and requested the media to give them privacy during this challenging transition time in their lives. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the rift between the couple had been widening for some time, thus leading to taking a step back from their relationship.
Sofia Vergara's fans on Instagram also started noticing some hints of their strained relationship, as recently the actress celebrated her birthday in Italy, in the absence of Joe. His simple birthday tribute to her raised many eyebrows.

The couple first met in 2014 at the White House Correspondents Association dinner, while Sofia Vergara was engaged to another man. Shortly after her breakup, the duo started communicating with each other on call and went on their first date together in June 2014.
In 2015, the duo tied the knot in Florida and have since then remained supportive and united throughout their marriage and have also faced rumors and speculations of separation several times. However, the two now have released a joint statement confirming their divorce and have requested privacy from the media.
