A grand concert was held in London on May 7 in honour of King Charles' ascension to the throne. Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor was among other Indians invited to the ceremony to represent the nation. At the King's enthronement ceremony, Sonam Kapoor performed spoken word and greeted the crowd with a Namaste.

Sonam further introduced Commonwealth's choir performers at the ceremony and was introduced as 'one of Hindi cinema's biggest stars.'

Introducing choir groups and singer Steve Winwood, Sonam said, "Namaste, our commonwealth is a union. Together, we are one-third of the world's people. One-third of the world's ocean, one-third of the world's lands. Each of our countries is unique. Each of our people is special. But we choose to stand as one. Learning from our history, driven by our values and determined to build a more sustainable and prosperous world for everyone where ever voice is heard."

Meanwhile, sharing the pictures of her outfit for the ceremony, Sonam wrote, "Historic moments call for fashion moments. I'm honoured to mark the unforgettable occasion of the #Coronationconcert by wearing the collaborative vision of two of the most incredible designers from the two countries I'm lucky to call home.."

Meanwhile, according to BBC, Sonam said that she is 'honoured' to join the Commonwealth virtual choir for the ceremony. She mentioned, "I am honoured to join the Commonwealth virtual choir for this ceremony, celebrating His Majesty's love for music and art. It's a momentous occasion that signifies a commitment to a positive, inclusive, and optimistic future for the United Kingdom, with the Choir's music paying tribute to the royal legacy and promoting unity, peace, and joy."

Hugh Bonneville will host the proceedings, which are being produced by BBC Studios. Kate Phillips, BBC Director of Unscripted, said in a statement, "I'm delighted that even more world-class names have joined the line-up for the Coronation Concert, broadcast live across the BBC. Against the stunning backdrop of Windsor Castle, it's going to be a jam-packed evening of memorable moments, that Their Majesties and everyone in the UK can enjoy!"

The concert celebrated the Coronation of Their Majesties, The King and The Queen, in front of 20,000 members of the public and invited guests, as well as millions watching around the world.

Other celebrities who attended the coronation are Hollywood star Tom Cruise, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, Olly Murs, DJ Pete Tong, Paloma Faith, Steve Winwood and Lucy, winner of The Piano, pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger and tubby little cubby Winnie the Pooh, etc.
