Song Hye Kyo and Gong Yoo are set to lead an exciting new K-drama titled Show Business. Alongside them, talented actors Lee Ha Nee, Kim Seol Hyun, and Kim Jeong Woo have also been confirmed for the upcoming period drama. Production for the highly anticipated series will officially begin this month, with a tentative release scheduled for 2026.
The upcoming Netflix Original will be helmed by Lee Yoon Jung, known for Argon, while the script is written by acclaimed screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung, celebrated for her work on Our Blues. The series is a collaboration between Studio Dragon and GTist, adding to the excitement surrounding its production.
Set in the post-Korean War period, Show Business is expected to explore the lives of stage performers who played a significant role in shaping South Korea's budding entertainment industry. Gong Yoo, a fan favourite, recently starred in the Netflix series The Trunk, which premiered on November 29, 2024. The show, based on Kim Ryeo Ryeong's novel, tells the story of a company that provides fixed-term contract spouses, with Gong Yoo playing a key role. Adding to his already impressive resume, the actor is also set to return as his iconic character in Squid Game Season 2, slated for release on December 29, 2024.
Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo is gearing up for her big-screen return with Dark Nuns, a thriller co-starring Jeon Yeo Been. Scheduled to release on January 24, 2024, the film has already generated buzz among fans.
