A rare picture of BTS' golden maknae, Jungkook, has taken the internet by storm, showing a glimpse of his earlier days when his iconic arm tattoos were still in their early stages. The photo, shared by a restaurant in Busan operated by a close friend of Jungkook’s father, has ARMYs cherishing his tattoo journey while celebrating their love for the superstar.
The now-viral photo was revealed through an emotional Instagram post by the Busan-based Gopchang Salon, a restaurant that holds a special connection to Jungkook and BTS. The eatery, which announced its closure in January 2025, shared heartfelt memories of how BTS’ fame helped it become a global fan hotspot. Among their cherished moments was a never-seen-before picture of Jungkook from 2019. In the photo, he can be seen signing a BTS group picture for the restaurant.
What caught ARMYs' attention, however, was Jungkook’s arm. Known for his intricate and meaningful tattoos today, the snap from 2019 revealed his bare arm with just a few tattoos—marking the early days of his inked journey.
Jungkook’s tattoo journey has always been adored by ARMYs worldwide. Over the years, the BTS vocalist has gradually added meaningful tattoos to his arm, each reflecting a story or a piece of himself. From the ARMY tattoo that pays tribute to his fandom to symbols of love, music, and freedom, his body art resonates deeply with fans. This rare photo reminded many of how his tattoos have beautifully evolved alongside his career.

Currently, Jungkook is fulfilling his mandatory military service, which began in December 2023. He is expected to reunite with his BTS bandmates in June 2025. While his music output has slowed due to his enlistment, his single Never Let Go, released earlier in June for BTS’ 11th FESTA anniversary, reminded fans of his ability to create magic with his voice. Though ARMYs eagerly await his next comeback, moments like these—rare photos and heartwarming memories—keep the fandom connected to their golden maknae.
