Actor Sonu Sood has asked support from industry colleagues to help Rajpal Yadav financially. Yadav is currently embroiled in a severe legal and debt-related quagmire, with reports indicating an outstanding debt of roughly Rs 9 crore. This financial strain is a result of a long-running legal battle involving a high-stakes cheque bounce case. The situation escalated when the Delhi High Court reportedly ordered him to surrender, following his repeated failure to settle the substantial liabilities. On Thursday, Yadav surrendered at Tihar Jail in Delhi after the court refused his plea for an extension.
Sonu Soo took to his IG Story and penned a long note, seeking helo for Rajpal Yadav. He wrote, "Rajpal Yadav is a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable work to our industry. Sometimes life turns unfair, not because of talent, but because timing can be brutal. He will be part of my film and I believe this is the moment for all of us..producers, directors, colleagues to stand together. A small signing amount, adjustable against future work, is not charity, it’s dignity."
He continued, "When one of our own is going through a tough phase, the industry must remind him he’s not alone. This is how we show we are more than just an industry."
