South Movies Releasing On OTT: For movie enthusiasts seeking an escape this weekend, exploring the latest OTT releases offers a plethora of options for binge-watching favourite shows and movies. Here we present a compilation of South movies, web series is premiering on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Aha, Hotstar, SonyLiv, Zee5, and others. From Lal Salaam, Operation Valentine, Marakkuma Nenjam, Sundaram Master to Abraham Ozler, there's an array of intriguing content waiting to be explored, this weekend.
Operation Valentine (Amazon Prime Video)
Three weeks after its theatrical release, 'Operation Valentine' began streaming on Prime Video, March 21, 2024. The film did not even complete the standard four-week theatrical window, which is mandatory for Telugu films. It is available for streaming on Prime Video India in both Telugu and Tamil. However, the Hindi version of the film will only be released on OTT platforms after eight weeks, as it had a theatrical release in Hindi. Varun Tej portrays an Indian Air Force officer which delves into the Pulwama attack and the subsequent counter aerial attacks by the Indian Air Force. This film marks Varun Tej's Bollywood debut under the direction of Shakti Pratap Singh Hada.
Lal Salaam (Netflix)
Lal Salaam (March 21) is a Tamil sports drama film written and directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. In the film, Rajinikanth makes an extended cameo appearance, with Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth portraying the main protagonist roles. They are supported by a talented ensemble cast, which includes Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, K. S. Ravikumar, and Thambi Ramaiah.
Abraham Ozler (Disney+Hotstar)
Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and written by Randheer Krishnan, the Malayalam thriller starring Jayaram and Mammootty began streaming on Disney+Hotstar on March 20th. In the film, ACP Abraham Ozler, portrayed by Jayaram, investigates the death of an IT employee and strives to apprehend a dangerous serial killer. Anaswara Rajan, Anoop Menon, Arjun Ashokan, Arya Salim, Senthil Krishna, Jagadish, Saiju Kurup, and Dileesh Pothan also play significant roles. It is produced by Midhun and Irshad M Hassan.
Marakkuma Nenjam (Prime Video)
A school comedy romance drama, is both written and directed by Raako Yoagandran. The film made its theatrical debut on February 2, 2024. Leading the cast is VJ Rakshan, with supporting roles played by Malina Atul, Munishkanth, Dheena Moorthi, and several others. Akshay Poola and Prasanth S. collaborated on additional screenplay and dialogue along with the director, Raako Yoagandran. It began streaming on March 20.
Sundaram Master (Telugu) (Etv Win)
Written and directed by debutant Kalyan Santhosh, features Divya Sripada in the lead role. The film is produced by Ravi Teja and Sudheer Kumar Kurra under RT Teamworks and GoalDen Media, respectively. It highlights the musical talents of Sricharan Pakala.
Bhoothaddam Bhaskar Narayana (Telugu) (Aha)
The highly anticipated Telugu crime thriller has finally made its digital debut on March 22. Starring Shiva Kandukuri and Raashi Singh in the lead roles. Directed and written by Purushotham Raaj, the film features a stellar cast, including Devi Prasad, Arun Kumar, Varshini Soundararajan, Shafi, Surabhi Santosh, and Venkatesh Kakumanu in pivotal roles.
