South OTT Releasing This Week (March 3-9): For OTT enthusiasts, this week is sure to be remembered because so many eagerly awaited movies are finally predicted to show up on well-known streaming services. Action-thriller Vidaamuyarchi, A tale of fisherman Raju in Thandel, Tamil comedy drama Kudumbasthan, and action drama Rajakili, which came out last year, are just a few of the exciting movies on the schedule. 

Everyone can find something they enjoy, whether they prefer romantic comedies, nostalgic K-dramas, or suspenseful thrillers.

South OTT Releasing This Week

Vidaamuyarchi

Where to watch: Netflix

One of the most anticipated movies of the year was Vidaamuyarchi. The Tamil movie tells the tale of a separated couple who take a final road trip together, with Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan playing the main characters. The husband must then find his way back to the wife when she is abducted following a brief run-in with the local thugs. The main plot point of the story is how he accomplishes it.

Thandel

Where to watch: Netflix

Thandel narrates the tale of fisherman Raju, and its greatest highlight is the incredible chemistry between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. Raju is detained after he ends up in Pakistani seas. The film by Chandoo Mondeti depicts his reunion with Satya. Devi Sri Prasad's lovely melodies and the key actors' poignant performances make a compelling case for Thandel to be on your weekend viewing list.

Kudumbasthan

On January 24, 2025, the Tamil comedy drama Kudumbasthan made its theatrical debut. The Rajeshwar Kalisamy-directed movie was well-received, especially for K Manikandan's performance. There has now been an official announcement following a great deal of conjecture over its digital availability.

Rekhachithram

Where to watch: SonyLIV

Jofin T. Chacko's Rekhachithram is among the most well-liked Malayalam movies released this year. Pogumdam Vegu Thooramillai

Vimal plays Kumar in the Tamil-language family drama Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai, while Karunas plays Nalinamoorthy. On August 23, 2024, the movie debuted in theaters, and both reviewers and viewers had differing opinions about it. It is available on OTT. The movie looks at issues of friendship, humanity, and the tensions that develop when self-interest trumps altruism.

Ramam Raghavam

Samuthirakani's most recent movie, Ramam Raghavam, was directed by renowned comedian Dhanraj, who also starred in it. Laila

Sonu is compelled to assume Laila's identity as a result of unexpected circumstances. The causes of this metamorphosis and its effects are then revealed in the film. Some spectators thought the movie's comedy timing hilarious, while others found it unsettling.

Rewind

With its plot and performances, the film, which is based on a novel idea of time travel, will win your heart once more. This week, some five months after its theatrical debut, Rewind will be available for streaming on over-the-top services.

Aaragan

Aaragan, a Tamil fantasy thriller released in 2024, received a mixed reception when it first came out. The film begins with a hopeful goal of telling a happy tale of love and struggles a couple faces in order to support themselves, before gradually delving into a dark secret and a strange depth of dream. The movie can now be viewed on an over-the-top platform.

Rajakili

The Tamil action drama Rajakili debuted on theaters on December 27 of last year. At the box office, the film, which was directed by actor-turned-debutant Umapathy Ramaiah, drew mixed reviews. The film is currently preparing for its digital release, which will enable a larger audience to enjoy its gripping story, despite the mixed reviews it received during its theatrical run.

Kuzhanthaigal Munnetra Kazhagam
