In the meantime, fans have begun speculating about what to anticipate from Squid Game season 3 after examining trends and making connections:

Gi-Hun's attempt to stop the deadly game fails miserably in the final chapter 2 episode, resulting in his classmates' deaths. He had to start over since Gi-Hun was betrayed by player 001, the front man, at the end. According to the reports, the third season will resume exactly where the last one left off, with Gi-Hun perhaps having to play the other players.

In a shocking twist, the captain is revealed to be a mole in season 2, episode 7. He's been sabotaging the investigation, even killing a mercenary and dismantling a drone. But here's the kicker—he's not just a mole, he's the one in charge of the Squid Game operation. His rescue of Detective Hwang Jun Ho may have been just a ploy to keep the police at bay.

Fans theorise that the Frontman might share a backstory similar to Gi-hun's. Perhaps he once won the game and initially returned with the intent to shut it down. However, unable to stop the game, he may have chose the 'lesser evil' approach, stepping into the role of Frontman to ensure the competition remains fair and free of manipulation.

Another group of fans believes that after Gi-hun returns to the lobby in Squid Games season 3, he may wind up being villainized rather than defended. The idea that he may have betrayed the other participants may be strengthened if he were the sole competitor to receive preferential treatment while his closest pals died.
