Renowned actor Ray Stevenson, celebrated for his role in the recent blockbuster film RRR, sadly passed away on Sunday at the age of 58. The confirmation of his sudden demise was confirmed by his representatives, who disclosed that he was in Italy at the time. The unfortunate news arrived just four days prior to his birthday, and the exact cause of his untimely death has yet to be revealed. Now, RRR director SS Rajamouli has expressed grief over Ray's loss through a heartfelt message on social media.

In the movie RRR, featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles, Stevenson played a pivotal role as the primary antagonist. He portrayed the character of Governor Scott Buxton, a racist and merciless figure in the film. SS Rajamouli posted a picture with Stevenson from the film set, expressing his disbelief and shock upon hearing the news of his passing.

His wrote, "Shocking... Just can't believe this news. Ray brought in so much energy and vibrancy with him to the sets. It was infectious. Working with him was pure joy. My prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace."

Following his post, fans also took a moment to reminisce about the late actor. One fan wrote, "Rarely actors capture the camera. What a solid screen presence he had. God bless his soul and give strength to his family. I wished to see more of him on screen." Another remarked, " So heartbreaking. He was a fantastic actor. His performance in RRR was spectacular!! You will be missed. RIP."

Last night, the official Twitter handle of RRR shared a post as they mourned Ray's loss. "What shocking news for all of us on the team! Rest in peace, Ray Stevenson. You will stay in our hearts forever, SIR SCOTT," the tweet read.

For the unversed, Ray gained popularity for his roles in the 2011 film Thor and its sequel Thor Ragnarok. He portrayed the character Volstagg, a loyal companion of the protagonist Thor and a member of the Asgardian community.
