Stree 2: Plot
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank follows the eerie happenings in the small town of Chanderi, where women are mysteriously abducted by a headless ghost named Sarkata. The film opens with the conclusion of its predecessor, showing Stree about to re-enter Chanderi, where townsfolk have erected a statue in her honour. Years later, Sarkata's reign of terror begins, and the townspeople mistakenly believe the missing women have left for better opportunities.
When Bittu’s girlfriend, Chitti, is taken by Sarkata, Vicky, Bittu, and Rudra delve into the town's history and uncover Sarkata’s origins as Chandrabhan, a vengeful spirit. Realising they need Stree’s help, they seek out Jana, who reluctantly returns to Chanderi. As the group faces numerous challenges, including Sarkata’s relentless pursuit, they discover that only a being that is half-man, half-woman can defeat him. With the help of She, who merges with Vicky, they confront Sarkata. Despite initial setbacks, Stree arrives to aid them, and together they ultimately defeat Sarkata. The film concludes with Vicky and his friends hailed as heroes, while She, revealed to be a ghost, must depart, leaving Vicky with her name. In a mid-credits scene, Sarkata’s remains hint at a new threat.
The film crossed the ₹600 crore mark in its sixth week, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to become the highest-grossing Bollywood film at the Hindi box office.
