With the takeover of Twitter by business mogul Elon Musk, the state of the social media platform has been in controversy. With new updates and dramas, recently Musk announced that users are required to pay a certain amount to receive their blue verification ticks on Twitter.
As big personalities including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli, and others lost their blue ticks on Twitter, many political party accounts also lost their blue ticks a day ago.
The legacy of blue check marks was earlier only granted to journalists, public officials, politicians, celebrities, and renowned personalities to separate their accounts from the spam or fan accounts created on the platform.
With the return of blue ticks to personalities across the globe, miraculously, late Bollywood actors Sushant Singh Rajput and Sidharth Shukla's accounts also gained their blue ticks back, which made netizens raise questions.
It's been nearly three years since the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, his account was subscribed to Twitter's blue tick which surprised many. As one requires to pay a certain amount of fee to acquire the blue tick, with the account being blank for the past three years, fans were keen to know the reason.
Many fans of Sushant Singh Rajput circulated the screenshots of his Twitter timeline with the blue tick, where one social media user tweeted, "Sushant Singh Rajput subscribed to Twitter Blue and verified his phone number. #MultiverseOfMadness".
On the other hand, television personality and Bollywood actor Sidharth Shukla also got his verification to tick back leaving the netizens puzzled. Several users bizarrely reacted to this.
One social media user wrote, "Soon we will have 'Utho Anarkali..' memes posted by Salim and Anarkali themselves!" Another social media user wrote, "Elon giving free blue tick to all with 1M+ followers.. they don't have to pay $8." One more user said, "@elonmusk thanks 🙏@itsSSR blue tick Sushant Lived N Loved Life." While another one tweeted, "Twitter 1m Followers waale account or celebrity logo ko apni taraf se blue de rha hai. Free of cost!"
For the unversed, Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his Mumbai flat on June 14, 2020. The actor's sudden demise left many questions and blots in the Bollywood industry, shocking the entire nation.
Several agencies included in the investigation including the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) were brought in to investigate various angles in his death case.
Sushant Singh Rajput's then-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was also questioned by the NCB in a drug case linked with the actor's death. However, she was later granted bail. Sushant Singh Rajput's last film was 'Dil Bechara' which was released after his death. However, earlier he was seen in 'Chichore' alongside Shraddha Kapoor.
On the other hand, Sidharth Shukla was a popular name in the television world and was the winner of Bigg Boss 13. He also featured in 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya' alongside Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. The actor passed away at the age of 40, after suffering a heart attack in 2021.
