'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' is one of the most popular and loved television shows and has also become one of the longest-running sitcoms. The show was earlier hitting the headlines because of the several controversies surrounding it. Dilip Joshi-starrer sitcom was recently in the news after it was speculated that Disha Vakani aka Dayaben will return to the show. But fans were disappointed to see that Dayaben's return was only the promotion strategy by the makers to attract more viewers.

Fans have now started trending Boycott TMKOC on social media and have slammed producer Asit Modi for playing with their emotion. Take a look at the viewers' reactions.

For the unversed, Disha Vakani went on maternity leave in 2017 but did not return to 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'. Several actors including Jennifer Mistry, Shailesh Lodha and Neha Mehta also left the show later on.

Jennifer Mistry, who played the role of Mrs Roshan Singh Sodhi in the show, accused producer Asit Modi of making sexual advances toward her. While speaking to ETimes, Jennifer said, "Asit Modi has made sexual advances towards me many times in the past. Initially, I ignored all his statements because of fear of losing out on work. But it is enough now I won’t take it anymore."

She added, "Yes, I’ve left the show. It is right that I shot my last episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on March 6 this year. I had to leave the sets as I was subjected to humiliation and insult at the hands of Mr Sohil Ramani and the other executive producer Jatin Bajaj."

Shailesh Lodha, who played the role of Taarak Mehta, quit the show in April 2022 due to some differences between him and Asit Modi. According to some reports, Shailesh was waiting for more than six months for his due payment. He reportedly filed a complaint against Asit Modi for his pending dues and sued his production company.
