Tamannaah Bhatia has bagged another big project, this time with Rohit Shetty. According to the latest buzz, she will star in a biographical action film based on the real-life story of Rakesh Maria, a former Mumbai Police Commissioner, with John Abraham in the lead. If reports are to be believed, this project will mark the reunion of Tamannaah and John after Vedaa. She will play an important role in Rohit Shetty's next directorial.
Tamannaah Bhatia will play the role of Preeti Maria, the wife of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. Describing how the actress' role will add emotional depth to the movie. As per a source quoted by Mid-Day stated, “Preeti supported him through some of the most dangerous and testing moments of his career."

Rohit's upcoming biopic is based on Maria's book titled Let Me Say It Now. The John Abraham starrer will bring the journey of Maria from a Bandra boy to becoming a senior Mumbai police officer. The film will so show how he protected the city by handling high-stage cases such as the 1993 Mumbai blasts and the 26/11 terror strikes during his inspiring career.
Several reports also suggest that the filming of the movie has already begun in Mumbai and is set to shoot across 40 locations. Makers are eyeing an early 2026 theatrical release. Howver, the official announcement of the cast and other details are yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Tamannaah made a comeback to the big screen with the Telugu-language supernatural thriller movie Odela 2. Released in theatres on April 17, 2025, but failed to meet the expectations of the viewers and makers at the box office. She has a special appearance in the song Nasha from Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2. Tamannaah will also be sharing screen space with Ajay and Sanjay Dutt in the Ranger movie.
