Tamil actor Visweswara Rao, known for his supporting roles in Tamil films, passed away at the age of 62 in a Chennai hospital due to prolonged illness as per reports. He breathed his last on April 2, 2024. His final rites reportedly took place on Wednesday morning.
Visweswara Rao began his acting career at the age of six and went on to appear in about 350 movies during his illustrious career. He became well-known for his role as Laila’s father in Suriya’s 'Pithamagan', directed by Bala. He also gained recognition for his brief yet memorable role as the annoying shop owner in Madhavan’s 'Evano Oruvan'.
Apart from Tamil cinema, Visweswara Rao also acted in several Telugu films and was a familiar face in television serials, often portraying supporting characters. Some of his notable films include 'Bhakta Potana', 'Potti Pleader', 'Sisindri Chittibabu', and 'Andala Ramudu'.

According to a News18 report, celebrities from the Telugu film industry, including Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Pawan Kalyan and Jr NTR, paid their last respects to the late actor. Chiranjeevi placed a garland on the casket, while Pawan Kalyan paid his respects with folded hands. Jr NTR was also seen offering his condolences.
