Telugu choreographer Jani Master has been arrested on rape charges by Cyberabad Police in Goa. He is reportedly being transferred to Hyderabad for a court appearance. Known for his work on major films such as Baahubali and Pushpa: The Rise, Master's arrest follows a complaint from a 21-year-old woman, who alleged that he sexually assaulted her while she was a junior choreographer on his team. She accused him of harassment over several years.

Jani was apprehended at a hotel in Goa. Following a medical examination, he will be presented before a local court to secure a transit warrant. "As per the procedure, he will be brought to Cyberabad on a transit warrant and will be produced before the competent court here," Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty told TOI.

In her complaint, the actress revealed she was a junior choreographer in his team when he sexually abused her. She further claimed that he abused her for six years during outdoor shoots. She also alleged that Jani’s wife also harassed her. The complaint has been registered in the Narsingi police of Cyberabad on Wednesday, September 18.

The complaint states that the accused claimed these incidents took place in 2019, but the woman felt unable to speak out because the choreographer threatened to have her removed from the industry.

According to a report by The Hindu, the alleged assaults occurred in cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. The woman claims these incidents took place in 2019, but she was unable to come forward earlier due to threats from Jani Master and his associates, who reportedly threatened to damage her career. The case has been filed under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rape (section 376), criminal intimidation (section 506), and voluntarily causing hurt (section 323). The investigation has now been handed over to the local police in Narsingi for further action.
