The much-anticipated third instalment of Stree is already generating buzz, but one actor who won't be joining the cast is Patralekhaa, the wife of Stree 2 star Rajkummar Rao. Despite her husband's involvement in the successful horror-comedy franchise, Patralekhaa recently shared that she has no plans to be a part of Stree 3, citing that the existing cast and storylines have already established a strong world.
In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Patralekhaa explained her reasons for declining a role in the film. When asked if she would consider starring in Stree 3 alongside her husband, she responded, "No, Shraddha [Kapoor] is there and their pairing is amazing. Abhishek, Aparshakti and Pankaj Tripathi are all part of it too. That world is already set." Her remarks emphasised her belief in the chemistry between the lead cast members and the well-established universe of the film.

The Stree franchise, which began in 2018 with its unique blend of horror and comedy, became an instant hit with audiences. Stree 2, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, was released on Independence Day 2024 and received widespread acclaim, both critically and commercially. The makers of the film have confirmed that a third instalment is in development, much to the excitement of fans. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi, reprising their iconic roles from the first film. The franchise is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande under the banner of Jio Studios.

While Patralekhaa may not be stepping into the Stree universe, she has been making waves with her own projects. She recently starred in Netflix's limited series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, where she portrayed air hostess Indrani. Released on August 29, 2024, the series, directed by Anubhav Sinha, received praise for its gripping retelling of the 1999 hijacking. The cast includes prominent names like Vijay Varma, Dia Mirza, Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur.
On the personal front, Patralekhaa recently celebrated her husband Rajkummar Rao’s 40th birthday with a heartfelt Instagram post. Reflecting on his stellar year, which included roles in Srikanth, Mr And Mrs Mahi and Stree, she praised him not only as an actor but as a person. "We often debate whether being a great actor requires being a good human. The answer is yes, and I can confidently say that because of you,” she wrote, sharing her love and admiration for him.
