The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor, was released on September 13, 2024, to positive reviews but has faced slow box office growth. The film, directed by Hansal Mehta, stars Kareena as Jasmeet Bhamra, a detective and grieving mother investigating the murder of a 10-year-old boy in Buckinghamshire.

In a recent interview with DNA, Hansal Mehta addressed the box office concerns surrounding the film. He expressed his frustration with how films are often reduced to mere numbers, saying, "It's demeaning to the hard work we've put in when people focus solely on box office collections." He acknowledged the pressure of box office performance but added that films should be given time to make an impact rather than being judged based on their weekend performance.

Despite the critical acclaim, The Buckingham Murders has struggled at the box office. As per Sacnilk.com, the film has earned Rs 7.30 crore in India as of day six, with its lowest earnings of Rs 50 lakh on Wednesday. The film had an overall 9.41 per cent occupancy for Hindi screenings that day.
