Thane Pet Clinic Viral Video: A video of two men harshly treating a pet dog in a pet clinic in Thane, Maharashtra went viral on social media on Tuesday. The two men were seen kicking and punching the dog of the Chow Chow breed as the animal struggled. While a man is seen thrashing the animal, another man filming the video also joins in the heinous act and adds to the animal’s trauma. A police complaint was filed against the two men and they are now arrested. The incident happened at the Vetic Pet Clinic in Thane, Maharashtra. 

Since the video went viral, many netizens have poured in their comments against animal cruelty. People have put in their support for voiceless animals and demanded stricter laws that punish those who commit crimes of harming the harmless. Celebrities have also reacted to the incident and raised their voice for stricter laws. 

On Instagram, Neetu Kapoor shared a post informing people about the incident and silently raised her voice against the heinous act. Several celebrities including Bhumi Pednekar, Varun Dhawan, Zoya Akhtar, Karishma Tanna, Mini Mathur, and others have expressed their disgust in response to the incident. 

Celebrities poured in their comments on a social media post informing about the incident. Varun Dhawan wrote, “Most horrible crime has to change.” TV actor Karishma Tanna wrote, “I am so eagerly hoping for the laws to change … how do we make it happen ??” Malaika Arora wrote, “How can this amount make a dent to this level of cruelty ???!!!?” hinting at the present laws that make a person give a fine of Rs 50-100 in case of harming an animal. Zoya Akhtar expressed her disbelief over the incident and wrote, “Please change this law. Please arrest this man. Please make this clinic liable. Please be kinder to animals.”

Bhumi Pednekar’s sister Samiksha Pednekar wrote, “Absolutely horrific! Apart from the men who assaulted the dog, even the clinic should be held responsible. The incident happened in their care and such negligence should be accounted for. THE LAWS HAVE TO CHANGE!” Bhumi Pednekar wrote, “This is so disturbing. We need stricter laws.” Mini Mathur wrote, “I could even BEAR to watch this video!! The management at this horrible “vet” clinic needs to be in jail while the two puppy beaters need STRICT laws to stay in because they’re mentally sick !! BEWARE everyone in thane @vetic.in has to be SHUT DOWN. we need stricter laws against animal cruelty.” Indian YouTuber Aaliyah Kashyap wrote, “So so disturbing. The current punishment is outrageous and the law needs to change and hold people like this accountable. HORRIFIC”

Such outroar usually persists for a few moments after an incident like this occurs and then it subsides. People need to be made aware of the laws and stricter laws be introduced to address such heinous crimes.
