Parvathy Thiruvothu recently called the Hema Committee report a ‘game changer’ and ‘historic moment’. She further asserted that it is more than MeToo Part Two. The actress said that it is shaking the entire system of the Malayalam industry. Parvathy further stated that it is not an individual-to-individual complaint anymore as it is a more systemic structure which continues to fail women. She urged all the women in the film industry to speak up and voice their opinions. 

In an interview with AFP, Parvathy said “It's shaking everything. It isn't an individual-to-individual complaint anymore. It's about a systemic structure that has continued to fail women.” 

Parvathy’s message to the women in the industry and said “You are a skilled artist... do not listen to anyone who tells you to find another job if it is so difficult for you. This is your industry, as much as it is anybody else's. Speak up, so that we are taking the space that is rightfully ours.”

As a member of the campaign group Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), the actress also said “There was this idea that women working in the industry should feel grateful for having been given an opportunity by the men who were hiring them.” 

Parvathy Thiruvothu is known for her work in movies like Ullozhukku, Bangalore Days, Uyare, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Take Off, Qarib Qarib Singlle and Charlie to name a few. She was last seen in Thangalaan. The movie also stars Vikram, Malavika Mohanan, Preeti Karan, Daniel Caltagirone, Muthu Kumar and Pasupathi in key roles. It was released in theatres on 15th August 2024. The movie became a huge hit at the box office. The Tamil movie is all set to release in Hindi on 6th September.
