About Thangalaan

Thangalaan draws inspiration from the real-life experiences of tribal communities in the Kolar Gold Fields during the British gold mining period. Vikram plays a tribal leader who helps a British colonel find gold, sacrificing his own village for the greater good of his people, but soon faces the fury of a vengeful foe. The film has garnered considerable attention and positive reviews, maintaining a strong presence at the box office.

"It’s an interesting film that takes place during the colonial period. It’s set in the KGF gold mines and about the freedom the oppressed people, who worked in the mines, wanted. Was their leader able to fulfill their wishes? The story revolves around this," Director Pa Ranjith told HT.
