South Indian cinema has consistently captivated audiences with its compelling narratives and stellar performances. Recently, the industry has seen a significant rise in production values, paving the way for grander and more ambitious projects that truly embody the essence of Pan-Indian cinema. Romance, a beloved genre, has been beautifully portrayed in various South Indian languages, creating unforgettable films like Ye Maaya Chesave, Sita Ramam, Fidaa, Majili, Premam, Geetha Govindam and others. With a growing viewership and the advent of subtitles, these films have crossed regional boundaries, allowing audiences to experience the magic of romance in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
As we move into the latter half of 2024, here are some upcoming South Indian romance movies that you won’t want to miss.
1. Palum Pazhavum (Malayalam)

Palum Pazhavum is a Malayalam family drama that weaves an unusual love story between 23-year-old Sunil and 33-year-old Sumi, who meet via Facebook. Directed by V.K. Prakash, this film dives deep into the complexities of their relationship as they navigate the challenges posed by their age difference and social expectations.
