Thangalaan On OTT: After months of delay, Chiyaan Vikram’s Tamil movie is now streaming on OTT. Thangalaan, released on August 15, 2024, received mixed reviews, with praise for the lead cast's performances, storyline and background score, but criticism for historical inaccuracies and visual effects. The film grossed ₹72-100 crore, emerging as a box-office flop against its ₹100-150 crore budget. Here is how to stream the film online:

Thangalaan is now streaming on Netflix. The film is available to watch in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, but there is no update yet on the Hindi version.

Thangalaan is directed by Pa. Ranjith and starring Vikram in five roles alongside Parvathy Thiruvothu and others. Set during the British Raj era, the film follows a tribal leader's quest to stop an apparent sorceress. The film was announced in 2021, with principal photography commencing in 2022 and wrapping up in July 2023.

Thangalaan Plot

Thangalaan and his people are oppressed by the local landlord, who treats them like slaves. Thangalaan's quest for identity and a better life leads him to help a British general, Clement, find gold in the village. However, the villagers fear a sorceress named Aarathi who lives in the forests and hills, and who is willing to use violence to protect the gold. Thangalaan must save his people and live up to his name as the son of gold.
