The Diplomat Box Office Collection Day 1: The much-anticipated movie of John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb starrer action thriller movie released on March 14. The film was earlier scheduled for release on March 7 but got postponed by a week. The Diplomat then hit the silver screens on the occasion of Holi. Despite the festive season, the film could not leave a big mark at the box office and brought decent numbers. On the opening day, the film earned a single digit number at the ticket windows.

As per Sacnilk, The Diplomat earned Rs 4.00 crore on day 1. The film had an overall 20.45 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday. The movie had 7.31 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 19.42 per cent in the afternoon shows, 28.50 per cent in the evening shows and 26.56 per cent in the night shows.

As per Sacnilk, the movie was made on a budget of Rs 50 crores including all prints and advertising costs.
About The Diplomat
The story is about an Indian diplomat who tries to repatriate an Indian girl from Pakistan. She was presumably forced to marry someone from the country against her will. The movie features John Abraham, Sadia Khateeb, Prapti Shukla, Jagjeet Sandhu, Ashwath Bhatt, Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, Ram Gopal Bajaj and Benjamin Gilani in significant roles. It has been directed by Shivam Nair and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, John Abraham, Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, Samir Dixit, Jatish Varma and Rakesh Dang.
While sharing a poster with the postponed date, the makers wrote on its social media handles “The wait gets longer, but his impact only grows stronger. #TheDiplomat now arrives on 14th March.”
