Global pop sensation Ed Sheeran is set to make a memorable appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show this weekend. The recently released promo on Netflix India’s social media platforms has already created a buzz among fans, showcasing Ed’s fun and engaging side on the popular Indian comedy show.
One of the most talked-about moments from the promo is Ed Sheeran speaking flawless Hindi, leaving host Kapil Sharma in complete shock. The trailer begins with Kapil jokingly saying that Ed has flown down to Mumbai just to meet him. To everyone’s surprise, Ed responds in perfect Hindi, clarifying that he is in Mumbai to perform, which leaves Kapil astonished and co-host Archana Puran Singh laughing heartily.
The promo also hints at an exciting segment where Ed Sheeran talks about his meeting with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Ed shares his experience of visiting SRK's iconic residence, Mannat, and the warm reception he received from the actor. Adding to the delight of fans, Ed is seen recreating Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic pose, a moment that is sure to be a highlight of the episode.
In addition to his Hindi skills and Bollywood interactions, Ed is shown participating in various comedic gags put together by Kapil and his team. The promo suggests that viewers are in for a treat as Ed Sheeran embraces the humorous and vibrant spirit of the show.
Kapil Sharma had teased Ed’s appearance on the show back in March with a heartfelt social media post. Sharing a photo with Ed, Kapil wrote, “We always love your songs @edsheeran but after meeting you we love you more. you are a sweetheart. Can’t wait to show the World the humorous side of yours. Lots of love and best wishes always my friend.” The post also mentioned a party that Kapil attended in Ed’s honour.
Ed Sheeran was in India for the final leg of his Mathematics Tour, performing at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on March 16. The concert was a grand affair, with Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh joining Ed for a special performance.
