The Chief Minister also shared a video in which he could be heard saying, "The Kerala Story makes people aware about love-jihad, terrorism and religion. The movie also throws light on how the girls are trapped in the name of religion and the aftermath of it." He further noted, "Also, it shows how a terrorist group works and their pattern. In Madhya Pradesh we have already issued laws against religion, but this film makes people aware and everyone, especially the young girls should watch. Owing to this reason, the Madhya Pradesh government is making the film tax free."
The decision came days after the Bharatiya Janata Party and several Hindu organisations demanded the movie to be declared tax-free in MP.
About The Kerala Story:
The Kerala Story is a Hindi-language movie directed by Sudipto Sen. The narrative is on a group of Keralan women who become Muslims and enlist with the radical Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The movie has drawn criticism for making the alleged incorrect claim that ISIS was enlisting hundreds of Keralan women and converting them to Islam. Political parties in Kerala claim it advances the objective of the Sangh Parivar.
Adah Sharma claims to be one of the 32,000 females from Kerala who are missing and have been recruited by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) after converting to Islam.
