JE Entertinment Desk: Actor Ranveer Singh took the internet by storm when he went naked for a photoshoot for Paper magazine. It was last year when the Bajirao Mastani actor posed naked on a Turkish rug, wearing nothing but his birthday suit! Soon after he posted the pics on his Instagram handle, they spread like a wildfire.
Do You Know The Cost Of Rug On Which Ranveer Singh Posed Naked?
According to reports, the carpet Ranveer utilised as a prop for the photo shoot cost roughly Rs 6.6 lakhs, and the sum had shocked internet users once again. The Turkish rug that Ranveer was seen lying on is from the company that goes by the name Jaipur Rugs
National Outcry Againt Ranveer Singh's Nude Photo Shoot
Ranveer wasn't affected in the way he posed for the cameras, but many online users, politicians, and other prominent figures were left bothered.
A national outcry against the 'Bajirao Mastani' actor was brought on by one of the several raunchy images that circulated online and insulted various segments of Indian society, according to the NGO in question. It also claimed that Singh's private parts were visible in the photograph.

The FIR was ultimately filed by the Mumbai Police against Ranveer Singh under many sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sections 292 (selling of obscene literature, etc.), 293 (sale of obscene products to young people), 509 (word, gesture, or act designed to offend a woman's modesty), and provisions of the Information Technology Act.
Who would have thought that a photo shoot could get Ranveer Singh into such a controversy? After an NGO filed a FIR accusing the Bollywood actor of "hurting sentiments of women" after his nudes (from the shoot) went viral, the actor was summoned to a Mumbai police station. Singh then made a statement in which he claimed that the photographs had been altered and hadn't been shared by him.
The 'Gully Boy' actor’s statement came shortly after an announcement from the Mumbai Police. The deputy commissioner of police, Krishna Kant Upadhyay, Zone VI informed, “We had asked the actor to come to the police station by August 30. He visited the police station on Monday at 7:30 am and was present at the police station till 9:30 am.”
Ranveer’s nude magazine photoshoot triggered a mem fest on social media. Take a look:

Actors Came Out In Support Of Ranveer Singh's Nude Photo Shoot
Alia Bhatt- I don’t like anything negative being said about my favourite Ranveer Singh. I love him and he is eternally favourite to all of us. He has given so much to the movies so we should only give him love.
Masaba Gupta- The best cover shot this country has seen. Brave & unapologetic.
Vidya Balan- In an interview with Indian Today, "It is pointless, blasphemous to try to curb someone’s freedom of expression. We are all individuals and if you don’t like what the other person is doing, close your eyes. If it is a newspaper or a magazine that you do not like, shut it. You want to tear it apart, tear it, burn it, do whatever in the confines of your own home or your own space, because you cannot dictate what the other individual should do because then I will have a problem with what you have done and then this is an endless loop."
Arjun Kapoor- While promoting 'Ek Villain Returns', Arjun Kapoor said, "The thing is, you should be allowed to be yourself. He (Ranveer) is that way. Mujhe nahi lagta Ranveer Singh kabhi bhi kisi cheez ko karte hain without being himself (I don’t think Ranveer Singh has ever done something without being himself)."
Millind Soman- In an interview with HT, he said, "Nothing has changed because human beings don't change. Since ancient times, people would have been talking about stuff that they like or don't like. And there's no time in history where everybody would have liked everything. So, people would have objected. Even in the times when Khajuraho was carved, we love it today and we say it's beautiful and part of Indian culture, but maybe some people objected (back then). But the king liked it, so it was there. And today, we hear everybody's voice, not just the king's.
