Even though Mohanlal and Shobhana have a lot of anticipation, it is likely to have a big impact at the box office on its opening day as per day one advance booking result shows. Thudarum opened its pre-bookings on Wednesday, two days ahead of its release. The movie has grossed over Rs 1.20 crore by selling around 70,000 tickets in 930-plus shows across the state. As per Sacnilk, Mohanlal starrer has earned Rs 2 crore in advance bookings in Kerala alone, surpassing Mammootty starrer Bazooka, which scored Rs 1 crore in its pre-sales. As per reports, the film is expected to generate Rs 3 crore in advance, making it the second-highest of the 2025 after L2: Empuraan.

The Malayalam movie stars Mohanlal, Shobana in lead alongside Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew, Krishna Prabha, Prakash Varma and Aravind in key roles. The film centres around the story of taxi driver Shanmughan whose obsession with cars knows no limit. He refueses to giving up on his aging Ambassador car. Even when life puts him to the test, he occasionally puts his car over his family. The film unfolds how one day his car vanishes for no apparent reason, leading Shanmughan to embark on a journey to prove how far he can go for what he values the most.
